Old Spice dominates at London's D&AD Awards
Wieden+Kennedy Portland's work for Old Spice has dominated award shows for over a year, winning the Film Grand Prix at Cannes 2010, and now claiming a host of pencils at D&AD for its real-time Responses campaign. The work claimed two Black Pencils across TV and cinema advertising, as well as three Yellow Pencils in social media, web films and writing for film.
Other Black Pencils were awarded in web films to @radical.media for Arcade Fire's Wilderness Downtown through Google Creative Labs (see the current issue of Contagious for a profile on Google Creative Labs).
Samuel Wilkinson Design's stunning Plumen 001 Lightbulb claimed a Yellow Pencil in consumer product and design, while Apple claimed its annual Yellow Pencil - this year in for the iPad 2 in consumer product design.
The final black pencil was awarded to JWT New York in the Installation category for its Burma Human Rights Watch campaign.
With a reputation for being one of the toughest award shows to win at, Old Spice and Wieden+Kennedy should go into the Cannes week quietly confident... landslide anyone?
