Contagious Communications appoints Simon Wylie as its first CEO
Contagious is proud to welcome media intelligence veteran Simon Wylie as our first chief executive officer. Simon is based in Contagious' London offices and starts with immediate effect.
Simon joins from Ebquity plc and was previously co-founder and managing director of Xtreme Information (former co-owner of Contagious). Simon has over 20 years of international experience in creating business and advertising intelligence solutions for FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 clients.
Contagious co-founder and editorial director Paul Kemp-Robertson, comments: 'Simon is the ideal partner for us. He has an entrepreneurial spirit, proven leadership skills, a deep knowledge of the global marketing industry and a natural curiosity for innovation and insight. We're lucky to have a fantastic team at Contagious and Simon's wisdom and vision is something they all deserve to benefit from. Simon's remit is to grow the company, explore tactical alliances and acquisition opportunities and to help us make the critical transition from a small company into a larger entity. Contagious has grown and diversified faster than we could have imagined when we launched the business in 2004. Our editorial intelligence services are now sold in 35 countries and we launched a trends consultancy last year that already boasts clients such as the BBC, Diageo, Google Mobile, Jaguar, Kraft, Levi's, Louis Vuitton, Sony Ericsson, Xbox and Yahoo. We also opened an office in New York and are keen to expand the business globally.'
Simon Wylie adds: 'I have worked in advertising and media intelligence for a long time and have enjoyed building a global business. In my experience, nothing comes close to Contagious: an independent, platform-neutral strategic consultancy and editorial service that delivers real insight and expertly filtered information. It's a brand that I have known and worked alongside since its inception and its unrivalled reputation, client base, team and energy make it an irresistible and exciting venture. Contagious is not just 'now.' It's the future and one to which I am very much looking forward.'
