Interview with Matt Watkinson: The Now / Next / Why Podcast is here!
Our annual Now / Next / Why event series is up and running and this year's theme is 'Obsessing Experience', an exploration of the 'why' and 'how' of creating exceptional brand experiences in a world gone digital.
On Tuesday, our London event went down treat with a packed audience at St Luke's and afterwards we caught up with one of our guest speakers, Matt Watkinson, author of The Ten Principles Behind Great Customer Experiences – a business book of the year. Matt is also joining us as we take the stage in New York on 6 May, Chicago on 19 May and San Francisco on 9 June.
For those of you in the US, if you want to get a flavour of what's in store, have a listen to the above interview. In it Matt discusses the inspiration for writing his book and what attendees in New York, Chicago and San Francisco can expect from his speech: 'They will come away with stuff they can do tomorrow,' says Matt. 'If it's not practical, I've failed. That will come from having each of the principles in my book being explained in a straightforward manner, and explored with some left-field examples.'
He also outlines that to create brilliant brand experiences for customers, it 'doesn't have to cost a fortune or require data heavy processes, these guidelines are simply about how you structure your thinking.'
Really great presentation on 10 Principles of Customer Experience by Matt Watkinson. Insightful and entertaining #contagiousNNW— Peter Paterson (@petepaterson) April 21, 2015
At our event in London, Contagious strategists were also joined on stage by speakers from Lush, Framestore and IDEO. Social enterprise Shakespeare Schools Festival set a live brief at the end of the day in which the attendees applied the tools and insights from the day to a gnarly brand experience challenge facing the organisation.
